Tribunal Upholds David Mark’s Election

The National Assembly election petition tribunal has upheld the election of former Senate President, Senator David Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party, the PDP.

In its ruling on Thursday, the tribunal struck out the petition filed by the APC’s candidate in Benue senatorial poll, Mr Daniel Onjeh.

The former Senate President had asked the tribunal to dismiss Mr. Onjeh’s petition for filing outside the 21 days required by law.

In her ruling, Justice Chinyere Gloria Anulube described the petition as ‘defective and incurably bad’, maintaining that the tribunal lacks the jurisdiction to entertain the suit.
